What is a Driver Qualification Card (DQC)?

A DQC is a card that is issued once the theory and practical tests of competence have been passed and/or the relevant ‘periodic training’ is taken. These cards are issued for a 5-year period.

Who will driver CPC affect?

CPC will affect all professional drivers of lorries over 3.5 tonnes, buses, coaches and minibuses with more than 8 passenger seats, unless they qualify for an exemption.

When is best to take Driver CPC periodic training?
It’s up to you when you take the training courses, as long as you do them within 5 years of passing your test.

When the 5-year period starts from 5 years before your current Driver CPC qualification runs out?
Not from the date you completed your last 35 hours of training.

You must complete periodic training by 5 years from the date you got the initial qualification.
